Snooker
We have 4 full-sized snooker tables which are available to all members at a cost of £1.20 per half hour and are adjacent to one of our bars. We currently have 2 snooker teams who play in the Southampton District Premier League (Division One) on a Monday evening from Sept to June and there are 3 internal snooker competitions that all Members are welcome to enter. They are: Straight Singles, Handicap Singles, Handicap Doubles. Handicaps allow players of all abilities to be competitive. Prize money and trophies are awarded to the winners and runners up and all winners are displayed on our honours board.
There is a 4th competition held annually called the '6 Red Shootout'. This is a fast based competition held in a single day. All competitors who exit early enter a secondary competition, again giving players of all abilities the chance to do well. Prize money and trophies are awarded for the winners and runners up.
We sometimes organise special events, for example we held a 24 hour Snooker Marathon where over £4,000 was raised for Cancer Research and the RNLI.
